略歴:

アベベ・セラシエ:IMF・アフリカ局局長。エチオピア大統領府プリンシパルエコノミストを経て、1994年より IMF勤務開始。ウガンダ事務所長、アフリカ局次長等を経て、昨年より現職。ロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクスにて経済史修士号を取得。

 

ロジャー・ノード:IMF・アフリカ局副局長。東アフリカ、フランス語圏西アフリカのカントリーオペレーションズを担当する傍ら、アフリカの公共財政問題にも取り組む。これまでにタンザニア、ウガンダ、カメルーンなどアフリカ諸国のミッションチーフを歴任し、近著には「The Story of an African Transition」(2009)がある。スイスのセントガレン大学、シカゴ大学を卒業。

Bios:

Mr. Abebe Selassie:

Director of the African Department of the IMF since 2016. In the IMF career spanning 22 years, Mr. Selassie has worked in various parts of the institution. Most recently as Deputy Director of Africa Department(AFR), he was a key member of AFR’s senior management team, including overseeing the Fund’s highly successful effort to assist the three Ebola-stricken countries. In other AFR positions, he was senior resident representative in Uganda; mission chief for South Africa; has led work on AFR’s Regional Economic Outlook, and has worked closely with policymakers from many of the region’s frontier markets (Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, and Kenya) to its more fragile countries (Burkina Faso, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone).Before joining the Fund, Mr. Selassie worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit, specializing in sovereign credit risk issues, and then for the Ethiopian Government as Principal Economist in the Office of the President. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the City of London Polytechnic and a Masters in Economic History from the London School of Economics.

 

Mr. Roger Nord:

Deputy Director of the IMF’s African Department, he oversees country operations in East Africa and francophone West Africa. He also leads the work on public finance issues in Africa. Previously, he was IMF mission chief for several African countries, including Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, etc. Among his recent publications, he was the lead author of Tanzania –The Story of an African Transition (2009), He is a graduate of the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and of the University of Chicago.
